Set in the lovely Cerro Castillo area, this small landmark house was a comfortable place to stay. The rooms were clean, breakfast was adequate, and the staff were very kind and attentive to what we needed. I'd recommend it for a visit to Viña del Mar.

The room was dirty, including the windows, and there was dust that looked months old on things like the curtain rods, just inches from your head while sleeping. Loose, slippery rugs were also in the room and hallways. On top of that, they charged us 15% more than the amount agreed on Booking.com, so be careful. We couldn't get help outside business hours. On our first night, there was no water for a shower, no staff at the property, and nobody answered the phone numbers they had told us to call. They replied to our messages about 8 hours later, which seems like a serious problem in an emergency. For the rest of the stay, the shower swung between scalding hot and freezing cold, with no way to adjust it. It was by far the worst shower we've had in years.

The location was great, and we had a very good stay, especially for a night or two in Viña del Mar. Just be aware there are lots of stairs. You'll need to go up and down to reach the rooms and shared areas, which could be an issue if you're with an older person or someone with mobility problems.

Breakfast is included and was filling, nicely presented, and served either in the dining room or our room. Coffee and tea were free in the dining room. The place is very close to the Flower Clock, so it could work well if you're traveling without a car. There's no private parking, though, only street parking on a narrow road where getting a ticket seems a real risk. There are also several stairs to reach different areas. Our room had no air conditioning, just a fan that wasn't enough to ventilate it properly. We found a corner spider there at night, which was unpleasant, and the shower pressure was low.
