Columba Hostel

We had a nice, spacious, clean room, though the bathrooms were quite small and not as clean. Things were fine for the rest of our stay, but getting in was frustrating. We arrived around 10am, before check-in, hoping to leave our bags and explore, and there were no workers there. We waited outside for nearly half an hour and couldn’t get through to either number posted on the door. The service wasn’t great.

They didn’t clean the rooms daily, and the staff didn’t know what the PDI paper was, telling me it was something you get from the police. I also had to pay 3500 to store my luggage, so I left it in the common area instead, which felt like a smart setup. I stayed a few nights and ran into several problems. Like many hostels, this one feels like a cash cow. The value for money was poor, so stay somewhere else if you can.

The beds were awful, with the wires pressing right into you 😩. I’m not sure I’d recommend this hostel. On my first day they made me change beds three times because they said the other beds were already taken. Some lockers couldn’t be locked because they were missing the mechanism, an easy fix, but instead I had to swap lockers with someone else.

The staff were really friendly and easy to deal with!
