Google has put this hotel in Poway, California, USA, a town in the Northern Hemisphere. It’s actually in Valparaiso, Chile, in the Southern Hemisphere. There’s a Del Poniente street in both places, and their latitudes are quite similar, except one is north and the other south.

A nice place.

I stayed for a few days of rest with my family, three women, in room number 1. It was clean and tidy when we arrived, with comfortable beds and a clean bathroom stocked with toiletries for everyone. At check-in they explained how everything worked. Breakfast was included, and we picked a time slot because the dining area is small. We could choose either yogurt or fruit, and the rest was provided: tea, bread, eggs, ham, cheese, butter, and jam. The staff were always friendly and asked whether we wanted fresh towels or bed linens. We skipped the change one day and asked the next. The cleaning was excellent. The location is very central, so we could walk to different places, and public transport stops a block away. In the evening, they let guests use the dining area supplies if they wanted tea or something. We went to the supermarket and ate there one day. I highly recommend it. There are only a few parking spaces, so call ahead to check. You might hear seagulls, but that’s to be expected in a seaside city.

I traveled alone and felt very safe. The hotel was so quiet that I thought I was the only guest, even though several others were there. Everything was clean and tidy, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Breakfast was delicious, and I could make tea or coffee whenever I wanted and take it to my room. They also had bottled water. My room was warm and neat, with a comfortable bed, plenty of covers, no drafts, and heating available if needed. There was cable TV, and the shower had lovely hot water with good pressure. The toilet felt a little cramped for me, but it did the job. When I checked out, they stored my luggage so I could enjoy more of the day before leaving. The location is great too, with restaurants, pharmacies, banks, entertainment, and public transport all a block away. I had a fantastic vacation and would stay again without hesitation.
