At check-in we showed our passports and PDI certificates, which exempt tourists from the extra 19% tax. We’d encountered that exemption at places we stayed throughout Chile, but the man at reception didn’t know about it. After contacting the owner, we were told we still had to pay and could claim the money back later. We agreed, but the owner seemed frustrated by our question and called back to suggest we stay somewhere else. The receptionist then awkwardly had to tell him we were standing right there and spoke Spanish, so we could hear the whole conversation. We left at that point. The guy at reception was kind and as helpful as he could be in the situation, so this isn’t a reflection on him. Such a shame about the owner.

It’s a quiet, safe place. There are three bedrooms on each floor and one shared bathroom per floor. They don’t serve breakfast, just hot water, tea, or coffee.

Everything was neat and clean, and the staff were so friendly. It’s a beautiful, comfortable, quiet place. I’d definitely return.
