Noubou International Hotel Akwa

The service is great, and they give you tips about places to visit and restaurants for local food. Breakfast is prepared on request. A few things are being repaired, but very slowly. The gym equipment could use repairs too, and it seems more users might encourage management to fix it.

Hotel Noubou made for a comfortable, relaxing stay. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well maintained, with everything I needed. Staff were always ready to help and paid attention to guests. Its location was convenient for exploring the area. I had a five-star experience.

The location is the only thing I can praise. The staff and management were useless, and the place hardly deserves to be called a hotel. I was paying almost $100 a night, yet the facilities were worse than at lodges. There was dirt in the corners and cockroaches in the room. The AC was much too small for the room, and its filter clearly hadn't been cleaned in ages, which set off my allergies. On my third day, the Wi-Fi still wasn't working. The room key cards had also stopped working, so someone from reception had to come with me every time to open the door. When I asked about the Wi-Fi, all they said was they were still trying to fix it.

The receptionist made a great first impression. I loved her sense of humor and how bilingual she was. Gamila deserves 4.5 stars for that. The rooms aren't too bad, though mine was missing small things like slippers, which are handy for the bathroom or after a long day. The other staff are sociable too. The neighborhood isn't the calmest, but so far it has felt secure, with a police security guard there 24/7.
