ONOMO Hotel Douala

Michel at the bar was wonderful, and made great cocktails to order. The breakfast buffet was amazing. The shuttle situation at checkout was confusing and frustrating. I'd sent my flight details twice after booking because the hotel advertises a free shuttle, but I never heard back. I took a taxi from the airport. On checkout morning, Thur Mar 4, around 7:30-8am, I asked two men at the desk how long a taxi would take. Neither knew, and they sent me to the man outside in yellow pants. He didn't speak English and brought me back to the desk to translate. I asked again about the taxi, but got no answer. Then a woman came in and said they had a shuttle, and would call it, or get a taxi at the hotel's expense if it wasn't available. She asked one of the desk staff to call the shuttle. I went upstairs for my luggage, and when I came down it was there. Another guest checking out rode with me and thanked me for getting it. I don't understand why the two men at the desk didn't know about the shuttle or offer it. Maybe they were lazy, or need more training. As a woman traveling alone, I prefer hotels with airport shuttles, but I don't understand what happened that morning. I flew from Duala to Lome. At the Sancta Maria hotel, their shuttle was waiting at the airport with the driver holding a sign with my name. I emailed them my flight details just as I did your hotel, and what service I got from them. Awesome! Bravo to them, and to the lady at your office that morning who reminded the guys there was a shuttle. That's service. If asked whether I'd recommend you, I'd tell anyone what happened, just as I told you.
