Hotel Le Cardinal

I liked the lovely beach view and the terrace. It's clean and peaceful, a good place if you want time alone. But it's far from the town centre, and the restaurant is unreliable. The internet was only 2G, there aren't any amenities, and there were lots of mosquitoes. Customer service needs to improve too.

The views are nice and it's very quiet, with spacious rooms, safe parking, a good bar, and a large conference room. One side faces the ocean and the other the main road, but getting in is a little tricky. It's about 12 minutes from the city. Service was okay, and some of the crew were good. Prices vary by room size and the services you request. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant at all, try it at your own risk.

The food was a pleasant surprise. The grilled bar fish and American breakfast were both tasty and well prepared. Reception was generally good even before midday, and staff were available and ready to help. Rooms were clean and spacious, with working AC, hot water, and large balconies facing either the beach or the road. The bathroom was spacious too. A few drawbacks: it's far from the city centre if you don't have a car, there were no slippers or bathroom door mats, and the entrance isn't wheelchair accessible. The TV only gets 12 channels, with no CNN.

For a short holiday by the Atlantic, Kribi is worth considering, and so is this hotel. The value for money is good, and the customer service was at its best compared with other hotels in Douala.
