The receptionist desk kept calling during the night and waking me up, and the elevators were so slow that the stairs are a better option. My room's walls were peeling, though the hot water service was great.

I spent my birthday party at this hotel, which was one of the average-cost places I've stayed at. It's easy to get to and has a peaceful setting.

There isn't much special about this hotel beyond its location in the city center, not far from the cosy Bastos neighbourhood, where many diplomatic missions have offices. The rooms have air conditioning and TVs, and there is a working lift, which surprised me for a hotel with so little professionalism. The place has no aesthetic appeal, the corridors and lobbies are poorly lit, and kitchen or restaurant smells spread throughout. If you're not particular about appearance or hygiene, it may suit you.

The rooms are comfortable, and the beds are classic. I recommend the hotel to everyone.

It's a good place with good rooms, although some of the staff only speak French.
