The room stayed uncomfortably hot even after I switched rooms. It felt at least 27°C, and turning off the heating and opening the window barely helped. I ended up leaving both the door and window open, and it only cooled down slowly around midnight. There was no air conditioning, which was the biggest issue, and I couldn't sleep until late. I arrived at DoubleTree by Hilton Baoding Zhongbo at 9:00 PM on the 18th. The front desk handed over my key without taking payment, then came to the room later to collect it. They wouldn't accept my international Visa card and said they'd need to pre-authorize 1,000 RMB, then charge the card the next day. For a hotel said to be one of the best in Baoding, and a Hilton, the whole stay was very disappointing.

The food is really good, though the internet is slow and English isn't spoken. It feels like a place meant just for Chinese guests.
