The breakfast was good, and the hotel is centrally located with a lift that goes straight into the shopping mall. The young man at the door was especially helpful. One staff member spoke very good English, and Google Translate helped with others. But we booked for three adults for four nights, arriving on 28/12/26, and expected three beds. The room looked nice at first, was clean and tidy, had a very good bathroom and amenities, a large TV, and a fantastic view. English was limited, though we managed with Google Translate. There were only two king single beds. We thought housekeeping would bring a foldaway bed, as mentioned on TripAdvisor and Booking.com, so we went to get food at China World Mall. When we got back late, there was no extra bed. Reception couldn't help, so one of us slept on the chaise with spare bedding from the wardrobe. I asked again at reception after breakfast the next morning. We went out for the day in a hotel taxi and returned late, but still no bed, so someone slept on the chaise again. I raised it once more after breakfast. We had a 7am tour and didn't return until 11pm, and there was still no extra bed. By then we'd given up, and housekeeping was making up the chaise. We paid for three adults and expected three beds, not two king singles. At checkout I tried asking for a refund for having to sleep on the chaise, but I couldn't tell if they didn't understand English or just didn't want to know. It wasn't acceptable to sleep there when we'd paid for three beds for all four nights.

The room was clean and very spacious, and even the toilet felt fancy, with its lid opening and closing automatically when the doors opened. The hotel is very good, connected to a luxury-brand shopping mall and a metro station. One of the best places I've stayed.

The view and breakfast were the only good parts. We booked for three adults, but got just two king single beds. I expected housekeeping to bring an extra bed, but despite asking, none arrived, and there was no discount at checkout. Hardly anyone spoke English, so most of the communication was through Google Translate. For a 5* hotel, you'd expect beds for the number of people on the booking. Without the chaise, one of us would have had to sleep on the floor.

The staff's attitude was worse than the slow service. From the moment I walked in, the whole place felt off, like the staff were annoyed that customers were there at all. For that price, seriously? I've had better experiences pretty much anywhere. It didn't live up to what it was supposed to be, and if people are hyping this place up, the standards must be on the floor. I'm not coming back. Ugh.

Having direct access to China World Mall was a real treat after a long flight. There are dozens of restaurants just steps away, with both local and international food. We stayed at the China World Hotel for three nights in early August 2025 during our China trip and were genuinely impressed. The hotel is a little older, and our room could use a light renovation, but everything worked and was spotlessly clean. We felt comfortable throughout and had no problems. Service was outstanding, what you'd expect from a five-star hotel, and every staff member we met was friendly and professional. Special thanks to the reception team, whose excellent English and warm welcome made us feel at home from the start. Top marks from us, and a big thank you to the whole team at the China World Hotel. We'd definitely stay again.
