Atour Hotel Beijing Sanlitun Gongti North Road

The room is clean and small by Chinese standards, but it has what you need: two comfortable beds, a refrigerator, air conditioning, a desk, a huge TV if you like movies, electronic curtains, a smart toilet, pleasantly scented shower toiletries, tea, plenty of water, and good slippers. Toothbrushes and a comb are provided at check-in. Breakfast is mostly Chinese, but there’s a good spread of options for Europeans too, including eggs, noodles, dumplings, cold meats, vegetables, fruit, nuts, bread, pastries, tea, and coffee. We checked in at 9am without a fuss or extra charge. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, which we appreciated after an overnight flight when we really needed sleep. The hotel is a 15-20-minute walk from Dongzhimen metro station, where the express train to PEK Airport leaves. Exit C is the most convenient. A few things took away from the stay: the air vents smelled of tobacco, soundproofing was very poor, and we could hear neighbors and hallway noise. I also thought the nightly price was a bit high. Still, it’s a good hotel.
