The staff were very friendly, even though their English was limited. They used AI translators, so communication wasn’t really a problem, and they went out of their way to arrange a late checkout for our evening international flight back to the US. I really appreciated that. It’s a modern four-star hotel about 20 minutes to half an hour from the airport. The beds were comfortable, the memory foam pillows were nice, and the rooms were spacious. Breakfast was inexpensive, and there was a free late-night snack around 9:30 p.m.

The staff did their best to help and moved us to a cleaner room, but this Ramada near PEK Terminal 3 was a letdown compared with other local Ramada hotels. Our first room was poorly kept. The shower glass had soap and hard-water stains, and the sheets looked like they’d just been flattened after the last guest. A strong, cheap perfume smell filled the hallway and lobby, almost setting off my allergies. There was also a constant sewer odor from the shower drain, which probably didn’t have a proper P trap.
