Breakfast had very few choices, mostly cold food, and not enough seats. In the room, the pungent smell and smoke hit me as soon as I opened the door, and the sheets looked reused and unwashed. The bathroom had a strange layout and a wet floor, the tables weren’t properly cleaned, and the heater barely worked, so the whole room was freezing. I had a bad feeling from the moment I arrived, and my stay at Jianhui hotel was unpleasant. The service was extremely poor, and for this price it really isn’t worth it. If you can afford another place, don’t choose this one. Even on a tight budget, I’d look elsewhere.

The stairs felt scary because they were dark most of the time, with motion-sensor lights. The toilet layout was bad and unsettling too, and the wardrobe area was dark and dirty. There were stains on the bedding, and the pillow was so flat. The rooms were dirty and disgusting, and you could feel it as soon as you walked in. Staff weren’t helpful and didn’t understand English well, so using a translator was inconvenient when you needed help. The place was always full of students.

The mattresses are extremely hard, almost like boards. The hotel is clean and quiet, though it’s far from the airport and major attractions. Breakfast is decent, with two choices: a very westernized version and another with more authentic food.

Otherwise, the hotel is quiet and well maintained. But I handed 25 postcards to reception to mail on September 15, 2019, and none has reached France. I think they kept the stamps. Dishonest people.
