Beijing International Hotel

The exhibition center next door is connected to the hotel, which also has several big ballrooms for events. I was there for a few nights on a business trip. The rooms were clean, the staff were friendly, and breakfast was decent. The gym was good too. Most staff didn't speak English, but we managed to communicate. Across the street there's a small mall with restaurants and coffee shops. For more shops and convenience stores, it's a 10-15 minute walk to the train station.

The restaurant on the top floor was a highlight for me, with really good food and great service. The rooms were very clean, with a walk-in closet, and the bathrooms were huge and nicely done. I checked in on the Executive Floor, where the staff were great and language wasn't an issue. The breakfast buffet had a huge, varied selection with something for everyone. The hotel is awesome, with big rooms, and a wedding in the courtyard showed how lovely that space is.

I visited during an Indian youth delegation trip to China, and this was the best hotel I've ever stayed in. Its magnificent architecture had me stopping to look for a few minutes. I can't praise the food and service enough. If your budget allows, it's a great place to stay while visiting Beijing.

Of the seven hotels I stayed in across China, this one had probably the nicest breakfast buffet. It was clean, with nice beds and amenities, and unlike some other places, it didn't charge extra to use the sauna. I'd happily stay here again. The main drawback for sharing a room was privacy. A large window and shades separate the shower from the room, and a big mirror in the shower reflects the gap clearly while you're bathing.
