The hotel is very close to the Temple of Heaven and Hongqiao (red bridge) market. The front desk will try to sell you a Great Wall and Ming Tombs tour through them. Don’t take it, it isn’t worth the money.

For AUD$43 a night, our double room felt like good value. The bathroom was very clean, the shower was decent, and the hot water stayed at a good temperature. Wi-Fi worked well, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast wasn't part of the rate, though they do offer a Chinese breakfast for 20 yuan. We went to the McDonald's on the corner instead, where there's also Starbucks, KFC, and Pizza Hut. There's a two-story restaurant nearby too. As with many hotels in China, it seemed set up more for Chinese guests than tourists. I might come back, I guess. It's cheap and the location is great.

The owner seems to keep the room in really good shape, and it was very clean. Sleeping in a tidy room is just more comfortable, haha.
