Beijing Lanwan International Airport Hotel

The room seemed fairly new and was very clean. We could sometimes hear planes taking off or landing, but it wasn't excessively loud and was perfectly acceptable for an airport hotel. We had a small problem with the air conditioning at first; reception changed our room almost immediately, and it was sorted in under 5 minutes. That was impressive. Getting there through Air China's Complimentary Transit Hotel programme was straightforward. After immigration and customs, we went to the Transit Counter and said we had booked through the programme. They asked for the hotel name, then someone escorted us to the shuttle pick-up point in less than 7 minutes. Check-in was immediate and smooth. Staff checked our boarding passes to confirm the departing flight details and told us when the airport shuttle would leave. Complimentary breakfast vouchers may also be given, depending on when you arrive. One of the best airport transit hotel experiences I've had.

The hotel is quaint and about 2.3 miles from PEK airport terminal 3. The free shuttle picked us up and dropped us off promptly, with service every hour from the hotel. Breakfast was included as a buffet from 6.30 AM to 9 AM. In my opinion, the rooms were well maintained, stocked with bottled water, and we were also given a toiletries kit.

The room was a real highlight: a huge bed, TV, clean bathroom, universal sockets, and complimentary water, soda, tea, and shower supplies. Check-in was quick, and they gave me a breakfast voucher. I was told checkout was at 2pm and that I could take the shuttle back to the airport then for my evening flight. After I rushed downstairs and finished checking out at 14:01, though, I was told the bus had already gone and I should have been there 10 minutes earlier. Nobody had mentioned that. They let me and another couple who'd missed it wait in our rooms for the next bus an hour later, which helped, though it was frustrating after the rush. I slept for a few hours and got a reminder call around 13:30. Getting there took some patience. I arrived in the arrivals hall at 6am, about an hour after landing, and went to the transfer desk. They asked which hotel I needed, gave me a lanyard, and told me to wait with several others. After about 30 minutes I asked when the shuttle might come and was told 10 minutes. It showed up around 20 minutes after that. I'm not sure whether the bus runs hourly or was waiting for the last person to arrive. The drive took about 10 minutes, and it dropped us right at the entrance. It was a smooth enough stay, especially since it was free. Allow for a wait at the airport, and be downstairs 10 minutes before the shuttle if you're on a tight schedule.

The front desk was so helpful that they even lent me an iPhone charger. The hotel has breakfast, toiletries like shampoo, shower gel and a comb, plus a hair dryer and complimentary bottled water. The airport shuttle back is included too. It's about 15 minutes from the airport, which made it a convenient transfer stay with Air China. Highly recommended. 👍👍👍
