Beijing Tibet Hotel

Tibet Hotel has a peaceful feel, with interiors that reflect Tibetan culture. The staff were warm and always willing to help, and my clean, comfortable room had modern amenities alongside traditional charm. The in-house restaurant serves delicious Tibetan food, and nearby attractions are easy to reach from here. Wi-Fi was slow at times, and I would have liked more breakfast choices. I had a lovely stay and would come back.

The food is good, but the buffet wasn’t refilled often, so sometimes there wasn’t much to choose from. Wing B is old and needs attention. Staff seemed distracted and spoke little English. With so many guests, management seemed overworked and overconfident. I’d look elsewhere.

There was no privacy in the bathroom because it had no walls or door. Half the hotel was under construction, and the staff weren’t great. The bed was easily the worst I’ve ever slept on, worse than concrete, even compared with sleeping outdoors during my eight years in the military. I don’t usually complain, but this hotel was awful.

I’ve stayed here twice on business trips to Beijing. The hotel is decent, with clean rooms and modern facilities, and the subway and local food options are within walking distance. The hotel’s Tibetan style means the food choices are quite distinctive. Still, there can be the usual issues you find in state-run hotels, like inefficient staff and poorly managed facilities.
