I booked three nights because I liked the idea of staying in a historic hotel, even though it was an awkward distance from the nearest subway station. The room issues made the stay very disappointing. Water leaked around the shower door, the floor was slippery enough that I could have tripped, and I noticed the towel rack was torn when I looked more closely. I could hear the next-door guests, for some reason described as “government-level” guests. Staff training also seemed inadequate: even after I put up the “Do Not Disturb” sign and asked only for fresh towels, staff still came into my room.
