Conrad Beijing

After one night at the Millennium Beijing Hotel, with several bad experiences, I rebooked at Conrad. It was the best decision. Everyone, from the bellman and receptionist to room service and the cleaners, went above and beyond for me and my child. I couldn't work out the AC, so they sent maintenance right away and checked back with us. I need a nice cold room, and the AC was great. I also loved the electric blackout curtains. The room was new and always clean, with cute little setups, and the bathroom looked beautiful, modern and trendy. The hotel is close to all the tours, in a safe location. Thank you, Conrad, for making my trip even better. I'll tell everyone to book here!

The hotel's in a great spot, close enough to walk to Sanlitun but away from the crowds. My room was nice and well maintained, and the gym and swimming pool were real gems. Service felt well intentioned throughout. On check-in I was offered hot herbal tea, a thoughtful touch in Beijing's cold, dry weather. The manager also cares about guests' experience and listens to advice. I'll definitely come back.

We had a great stay at the Conrad Beijing on our family trip to China, and the service was the best part. Check-in was quick, and the kids especially appreciated the little bear gifts. As Diamond members, we got upgraded rooms. They were spacious, though the beds felt small and too firm for me. The bath was large, but some tiles were dirty and one faucet wasn't working properly. Breakfast tasted good and had a nice variety, but over our four-day stay the menu barely changed. The executive lounge was spacious and the food was tasty, though repetitive as well. The gym was very complete, with Technogym equipment, which I consider the best. The restaurant staff's English could be better. At check-in the staff spoke English very well, but in the restaurant it was only so-so. We were also charged for breakfast and the executive lounge for our two kids, something that hadn't happened at other Hilton properties on our holiday trips, even with the same type of room and number of guests. It was a great stay, and I'd recommend considering the hotel, but the issues kept me from giving it five stars.

My stay was pleasant enough and the rooms were clean, but there was nothing particularly outstanding. As a Diamond member, I wasn't proactively offered a room upgrade at check-in. They gave one only after we asked and availability was shown. Staff still tried to sell us paid upgrades, which we declined, taking the free upgrade instead. It looked little different from our original room, so I'm not sure whether it was a real upgrade or just a different room number. Service needs a lot of improvement. At the executive lounge, I ordered a truffle omelette and waited more than 40 minutes, but it never arrived. Orders also got mixed up at the level 2 breakfast buffet. The roads around the hotel can be jammed, and its location isn't ideal since there's no nearby MRT. The room layouts aren't as nice as Chongqing, the location isn't as unique as JiuZhaiGou, and the food isn't as amazing as Tokyo. This is one of the least impressive Conrads I've stayed at worldwide.
