The courtyard is quiet and beautiful, with just four rooms around it. It felt like being an elite guest in an imperial palace, and much more special than a typical hotel. Service and food were both great. We were in the north room, which I think is the largest; it costs a little more, but for a real stay in a traditional Chinese place, it seems worth it. We hadn't booked dinner and regretted it. Clearly we should have reserved one night for dinner in advance.
