Crowne Plaza Beijing Sun Palace by IHG

The noodle station at The Market Restaurant on the first floor was a highlight. I had the rice noodle (rice noodles) dish every morning, and the lovely woman there remembered me and would start making my bowl when she saw me, saying in Chinese, “This one is yours.” I regret not asking her name. Since the Executive Lounge on the 23rd floor doesn’t serve breakfast, I ate at the restaurant each day. Ms. Coco (Zhu Xinrui) and Mrs. Miao also took care of everything with genuine warmth and professionalism. I stayed at Crowne Plaza Beijing Sun Palace for six days and five nights. It’s near Shaoyaoju Station on Lines 10 and 13, which made getting around Beijing easy. I’m grateful to Ms. Kitty in the lounge, who was incredibly kind and attentive. She said she spoke a little English, and I speak a little Chinese, so we often chatted. She remembered that I always take ice in my coffee and asked every time if I wanted ice. Such a small, thoughtful detail made me feel cared for. Everyone I met, from the lounge to the restaurant, was polite, friendly, and full of positive energy. I was so impressed that I’m already planning to come back next year. ❤️

The location is fairly good, about 25 minutes from the airport when traffic isn’t heavy. The rooms suit someone like me who likes a nice work desk, though they may not be ideal for a family vacation. I’ve visited China many times, but this was my first stay at Crowne Plaza Sun Palace. The first visit was nice and the staff gave it a lot of attention. On my second visit, the service wasn’t as good.

The room was a lovely surprise: clean and comfortable, with plenty of storage and good space to work or relax. I especially enjoyed watching the sunset from it. There were good restaurant choices in the hotel for dinner, and the concierge and check-in and check-out teams were friendly and efficient. I have no negatives about my stay.

The lounge team were so thoughtful. They welcomed me for my birthday after I was feeling better from being sick in hospital, and I really appreciated that memory. The bellboy was also great whenever anyone needed help, not just me. My room was very clean, and she took care with my things and put everything neatly in place. Breakfast could use improvement since the menu was the same every day. The hotel is quite far from the subway, so I took Didi each day. That worked out fine with three people, and we didn't have to walk.
