Between December 15 and 22, 2025, I stayed at this hotel and had severe pain in my right knee after a fall. The male staff member on the night shift kindly let me use a crutch so I could get around and seek hospital treatment. He was extremely helpful, and I’m sincerely grateful.

The water pressure is very, very low, so be aware of that. The facilities are old, but nice enough for the price. We had a really good stay, and everyone was kind and took good care of what we needed, changing our toothbrushes, water bottles, slippers, and towels every day.

The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the price was affordable. I loved the private room, with its big windows and comfortable, firm bed that suited my back. The hotel has a great 90s look, like stepping back in time, and there are lovely little alleys to explore nearby. It’s also not far from the Forbidden City. I’ll definitely stay again next time.

We got to check in early without paying extra, which was lovely. The staff were so sweet, and one even gave us a little present when we left. The rooms are spacious, but this is a budget hotel, so don’t expect anything fancy. You can smell that people have smoked a lot in the room, though that seems pretty normal in China.

The biggest issue for me was the cleanliness. There were lots of mosquitoes, and they got really annoying at night. Otherwise, the staff were friendly and very helpful, though knowing a little Mandarin would be useful. It’s a budget hotel in central Beijing, tucked into BaoFang Hutong, a narrow alley that cars, motorbikes, and bicycles can use. Taxis can drop you at the hotel entrance, but it’s better to wait at the alley entrance when ordering one. Dong Si Road is close by, so it’s easy to find food.
