East Sacred Hotel-near Beijing Tiananmen Square,the Forbidden City,Wangfujing Street-Newly renovated hotel

The staff gave great service, and the location is excellent, right beside Wangfujing. The room was fairly clean but on the small side, so opening two suitcases at the same time was difficult.

We stayed in this small, pleasant hotel on a side street in central Beijing. The renovated rooms were very clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. I got sick on my flight to China, and the staff arranged an early check-in for me. The manager was especially supportive and accompanied me to a nearby hospital and pharmacy.

We were there during Labor Week, when the hotel was very busy, but they still let us check in four hours early. That was a huge help after a tiring flight. Service was very good, and the reception desk is staffed around the clock. The rooms are spacious and clean. We paid $76 a night, and while there are definitely cheaper options in Beijing, the value for the price is good. The location is convenient, about a 10-20 minute walk from Tiananmen Square. One night the door system batteries died, waking us at 3 a.m. so we had to call someone. It wasn't too bad, and they fixed it right away, but it did take a little off the stay. Overall, a good choice for service and location.

The staff were easy to communicate with using their electronic translator, and Gia deserves a special mention for patiently explaining even complicated questions. I was checked in at 10 a.m. without an extra charge or any fuss. The hotel also provides daily cleaning and fresh towels, two bottles of water, and tea and coffee, which are restocked each day. The room has a kettle and two pairs of rubber slippers; disposable felt slippers are available if you ask. A smart device lets you control the lights and curtains from bed. Breakfast costs 49¥ and is more European in style, so it's not spicy. McDonald's is 200 meters away, where you can get a tasty soft chicken piece for 23.5¥, with or without the bun. There are five or six shopping malls within walking distance, nearly all with cafes and restaurants on a floor. I left a small gift as a keepsake and will definitely come back to East Sacred Hotel. It's very near Beijing Tiananmen Square, and is listed as 3 *.
