The staff were the best part for me. The front desk team and managers were especially kind, helpful, and focused on finding solutions. It's a safe hotel in a quiet area, right in the Haidian university district, with U-center mall and its restaurants nearby. I also liked the executive floor and rooftop tea lounge. My room was an upgraded, larger one, and it was okay. I'd stay again if I had to because the staff were so nice, but I'd choose somewhere better if I could. I'd put it closer to two stars than three. There are a lot of downsides. The rooms are old and coming apart, daily cleaning wasn't good, and the carpet didn't help. The fridge barely worked, and the narrow windows let in little light and made the room feel claustrophobic. Internet in the rooms was very poor. Breakfast wasn't up to standard, with few choices and greasy local dishes. The tea and coffee weren't good either. It's far from central Beijing and the main attractions take a long subway ride to reach. The nearest subway station is still a 10-15 minute walk away. Given all that, the nightly price isn't low.
