Jinjiang Inn is only about five minutes from the airport by taxi, and the official cab cost me 20 CNY. It was quiet enough for a nap before my flight, and they provided toiletries and water. The place feels dated, though, and there was a cigarette smell. It was cold because the central heating wasn't working, so I had to use the air conditioner. At 181 CNY, it was the best deal I found on booking.com, but I wish I'd checked trip.com first. Payment at the hotel is only in cash CNY or Alipay.
4/10
The room was clean where it mattered most, the bed and bathroom, but the furniture is very worn and looks like it should have been replaced about 20 years ago. Paint partly stains the window, the screen is dirty, and hallway and neighbor noise comes through as if there are no doors. The hotel looks different from its photo, even down to the sign. It's a 5-6 minute taxi ride from the airport, but walking takes over an hour, so it's inconvenient; for a layover, paying more for a nearby hotel may save the taxi hassle. I strongly recommend it.
