The rooms are huge and comfortable, with clean carpets, a sofa, a large desk, and plenty of room for three big bags. There’s one luggage rack, and two bags fit in the beautiful wood closets without trouble. The beds are comfortable, towels and pillows are plush, and the shower has great water pressure, as does the huge tub. Rooms have a fridge and four free bottles of water each day. The TV has a few American channels, and the outlets are universal, so plugs from around the world work. Staff are friendly and helpful. If someone doesn’t understand English, they’ll point you to a person who speaks it well. My only small gripe was a few stains on the hallway carpets. Replacing them would make the place look fantastic. It’s an older hotel, but the beautiful lobby, service, and breakfast buffet make it shine. Breakfast was very good, with fresh omelets, fruit, breads, cheeses, Asian dishes, tasty lattes, and fruit juices. The hotel connects on the second floor to a small mall, with a grocery store downstairs. China World Shopping Mall is about an eight-minute walk away, a huge upscale mall with great restaurants, an excellent bakery on B1, and an Ole grocery store. For getting around China, I recommend setting up DiDi, Alipay, and Amaps before you leave. You’ll need them for services. I’d skip the subway and use DiDi, which is very cheap and uses brand-new cars. Google is terrible in China, with bad, outdated information; Amaps is the only useful way to research places. I’d definitely stay here again for the location, spacious rooms, and friendly service.

I chose this hotel for its location and was happy with the stay. It’s a bit old, but the rooms are well maintained. Mine was large, with a big bathroom, tub, and shower, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was decent, with all the basics, though the bread could be better.

I’ve stayed here more than once and think the hotel is very good. The cleaners on the 18th floor are especially welcoming. They brought us extra water and a blanket, and opened the window for fresh air. It’s also connected to a shopping mall, which is handy for food and essentials.

I was only coming to ask them to store my belongings, since I already knew the check-in rules. The front desk woman, who was a foreigner, had an unfriendly look before I even reached the counter. She gave no warm greeting and immediately said check-in wasn’t possible, without a polite explanation or offering to hold my luggage. It would have been much nicer to hear that the room wasn’t ready, but they could store my bags and I could come back for the key later. As the first person guests meet, she should greet people with a smile and communicate professionally.
