Guanganmen Grand Metropark hotel

I really enjoyed the Beijing duck at the restaurant. The staff were pleasant, the rooms were clean, and breakfast was delicious. A very nice hotel.

The staff are polite, and the rooms are clean, comfortable, and spacious. Still, reception doesn’t speak English, and you can’t pay by credit card or US dollars. Luckily, there’s a bank nearby where you can exchange money. For such a big hotel, I don’t understand why they don’t hire staff who know English. Breakfast was just okay, and the main dishes are pork. It made me feel like the hotel doesn’t like foreigners. I hope management reads this.

I’ve stayed here a couple of times, and the staff have been friendly and helpful when needed. The beds are firm, the linens are clean and good quality, and the rooms are comfortable with enough space to move around. The hotel feels dated, though. The carpets look dingy, the lighting is dim, and some paint is peeling. It could use a thorough makeover. If you don’t need a perfect place, it’s good value compared with many other hotels in Beijing.

Friendly staff and a good hotel. The only downside is having to pay a deposit.
