Hilton Beijing

I spent nearly a week here and found it quiet, with friendly staff and a good breakfast. Room service came daily, and Song Jing Jing was especially dedicated to keeping the room clean and hygienic. Dinner choices inside the hotel are limited, but there are plenty of restaurants a few blocks away.

The airport is easy to reach from here, and I liked being a little outside central Beijing, away from the crowds. I stayed at Hilton Beijing for a week and really enjoyed it. The rooms were spacious and clean, and both breakfast at Makan Kitchen and the food in the executive lounge were top notch. Staff across reception, housekeeping, the lounge, and breakfast were welcoming and hospitable. There’s a pool with separate male and female sauna and steam rooms, plus a ground-floor hair salon where I got a haircut. I’d definitely stay again if I had the chance.

Housekeeping did a very fine job, and the staff there were friendly. The rooms are okay but a bit worn, and the temperature control didn’t respond, leaving the room very hot. Other staff were more hit-or-miss for friendliness and competence.

We liked the walkways by the nearby canal, and public transport was close. The embassy area also made it feel even safer than Beijing already is. Rooms are a good size, though somewhat dated. We tried to find the executive lounge on the third floor and couldn’t, so it must be well hidden. Breakfast was okay by Asian standards, which are much higher than in America. All in all, it’s a good place to stay.
