The rooms are compact, but nicely presented and have everything you need. Finding the place was another matter. It took us at least an hour, and it’s so hard to locate that anyone with a reservation will need some luck. Once we got there, though, the hotel was pleasant.

You can walk to the Forbidden City from here, and the Drum Tower and Bell Tower are just around the corner. It’s a great spot in a hutong, though the rooms are on the small side and the hotel can be noisy. There’s practically no English spoken.
