Hyatt Regency Beijing Wangjing

A lovely place for a family trip or a business stay. The decor and interiors are among the best in Beijing, though some areas are starting to feel worn.

At 4:20 PM, well past the normal check-in time, our room still wasn’t ready. I’m a Hyatt Globalist, and I expected a smoother arrival than that. The eventual upgrade was just a room with a better view, with no suite or more substantial improvement despite my status. When we raised our frustration, the staff didn’t apologize or try to fix things. They said it was “okay to find another hotel.” That response was baffling and showed no concern for our time, loyalty, or business. There was no attempt at service recovery after the hotel’s operational failure. This was one of my most disappointing stays with the brand. What should have been a luxury experience became poor service and disregard for customer loyalty. It fell far short of the professionalism I expect from Hyatt Regency Beijing, and I regret choosing this property. I’ll be considering other brands in the future.

The woman at the desk on the right rolled her eyes while I was checking in and taking a little time to find my documents. That was rude and really poor service for a five-star hotel. What’s wrong with you? This needs to be addressed.

The rooms are clean and roomy, and the breakfast has a wide selection with attentive staff. A special mention for the concierge team, who looked after my parcels. On one occasion, a concierge even went out of their way to collect a package for me from the locker. One of the best hotels around here.
