Inner Mongolia Grand Hotel

The hotel is central and clean, and was satisfactory overall. The decor felt a little too pale brown to me. The reception staff spoke only very basic English, at best. I had trouble with the shower door, but after I told the receptionist, a hotel worker came up and fixed it right away. Good job!

They even put a cake in our room for my son's birthday, which was really thoughtful, and we were given plenty of bottled water each day. The hotel was clean and very nice for the price. Its location was excellent, near a metro station and the important places in Beijing.

The rooms are great, and the air conditioning is quiet. It's a Chinese-style hotel, and the breakfast buffet is Chinese-style too, possibly the longest in Beijing. Give the robot barista or robot bellboy a try. The metro is just a five-minute walk away, making it easy to get around Beijing.

I spent four days and three nights here, drawn by the Mongolian theme, and I'd stay again on my next trip to Beijing. The staff were friendly and very cooperative, and the traditional Mongolian music band played lovely music in the lobby during the evening sessions. I especially appreciated the chef, who willingly made a special breakfast dish when I asked. Thanks as well to Wang Lehwa for looking after the room and providing wonderful room service.
