Jade Garden Hotel Beijing

It's a comfortable, spacious hotel of a mid-level standard, and one I'd definitely recommend. The location is perfect: near the Forbidden City, Beijing's Walking Street, and pickup points for tours to the Great Wall and elsewhere.

Getting to the airport at 5:00 in the morning took 40 minutes and cost only 100 Yuan. The hotel is very safe too, with police outside all night. Location and public transport access were the main selling points for me. A major shopping hub and the ForbiddenCity are within walking distance, and Jinyu Hutong metro line 8 Exit C is literally a seven-minute walk away. It's an old-style hotel, but very clean. I walked past it twice in the evening because its name isn't on the front in English, only on the side. The staff were extremely helpful, especially Paul and Hubo, who helped me hire a taxi and answered my questions. There's an ATM in the lobby, and breakfast is offered for 69 Yuan (October ‘25). My large room had two beds, comfortable bedding, and heating and air conditioning controls inside the room. The window looked onto the dining area/courtyard below. They provided bottled water, tea, and coffee. There was a fridge and a small bathroom with a bath/shower. The TV wasn't smart, so it only had Chinese TV channels or CCTV.

I had a great four-night stay and absolutely no complaints. It's an old property, but has everything a traveller needs, in a superb location. Special mention to the staff, who were very helpful.

The location is the standout, right by Beijing’s main sights and close to a subway station. The hotel is in the historic Cui Ming Manor building. The room and facilities felt quite dated, but they worked, and the bed was comfortable.
