We found the location useful, and the travel agency in the lobby made arranging our Mutianyu Great Wall trip easy. The à la carte Chinese restaurant was good too, though its prices were on the high side. Breakfast was another highlight, served in a bright, garden-like space with a tasty, varied selection. Our room was spacious and comfortable for a longer visit. The elevator situation was frustrating. The hotel is large but has only three elevators, and for four of our five days only two were working. That meant long waits and crowded rides, especially around breakfast and checkout. We couldn’t use the stairs either. There were problems in the room as well. The bathroom is unusually open, which made privacy awkward for our group. Water from the upstairs shower was extremely loud, and the closet ceiling got wet once. We told the staff, but nothing was done during our stay. We had a good stay overall, but these issues kept it at four stars for us.

We felt like VIPs thanks to the whole staff, who were friendly and created a great atmosphere. The location is right in the middle of things, with Beijing Railroad across the street and metro line #2 nearby. Banks, shops, stores, and cafés are all an easy walk away. We enjoyed our first dinner at the restaurant so much that we ate there every night. There’s a big choice of dishes, including Sichuan, Hunan, Cantonese, and Fujian. Breakfast was a delicious spread of Chinese and Western food too.

I can’t recommend this place enough. I literally left a bag of money behind, and the cleaning lady returned it. They counted it on video, and every euro was there. The hotel is close to the subway station, and everyone was ready to help. The Russian staff were lovely. Thank you so much, please stay here.

Nina at the front desk really looked after me. I had dietary restrictions and didn’t know where to get breakfast nearby, so she wrote down walkable options, checked their menus, and even called a café to make sure they could accommodate me. I loved staying at the Howard Johnson Paragon Hotel. The rooms were roomy, clean, and comfortable, and the property felt safe and well cared for. Great hotel and staff.

Getting around was easy, with Beijing Station about a five-minute walk away and Beijing Railway Station directly opposite. It was simple to make the trip to Tianjin. The hotel was clean and tidy, and the chambermaids and helpdesk were prompt, efficient, and helpful. We had a comfortable stay.
