The bed was incredibly comfortable. We slept so well each night, and the rooms were quiet, cozy, spotless, and neatly laid out. Each had water, tea, coffee, and a little fridge, and I was greeted with fresh fruit too. The garden inside is a lovely, leafy place to unwind, and it’s kept in great shape. The hotel’s traditional style gives it lots of charm. Staff were smiling, warm, and helpful from the moment we arrived, and the location made it easy to get to what we needed. There are three breakfast choices each morning: Chinese, Continental, or American. On my birthday, although I hadn’t mentioned it, the hotel surprised me with a small cake and a cute traditional gift. Such a touching gesture. This place made us feel cared for, and I’d happily come back.

The location worked really well for us, close to the Forbidden City in a Hutong. It was central, but still quiet enough to rest after busy days out. We stayed at the Jingshan Garden Hotel in July 25, and it was one of the best hotels we’ve visited. The staff paid close attention and helped with all sorts of things, from administrative matters and suggestions for restaurants and shopping to communicating with our tour guides. They went out of their way to help. We also got complimentary bottled water in our room every day, which we really needed in the heat, plus fresh fruit twice during our weeklong stay.

The rooms are great, and the building makes a lovely base for seeing Beijing. I’d recommend staying here. One thing to know: the map pin isn’t quite right. The hotel is in another building a little farther along the road, around 50-100 yards away. It isn’t clearly signposted, and nearby people didn’t know where it was. Look toward the end of the dead-end road that the mapped building sits on, and you should find it.

We loved staying here. The rooms were clean and very nice, and the restaurant food was good, with an amazing breakfast too. The professional, kind team were always ready to help or offer advice, and they arranged tickets for us and looked up places to visit. A great spot right in the heart of Beijing.

The small number of rooms seems to let the staff give guests more attentive service. At check-in they were very polite and shared helpful travel materials, including a China guide and a nice map of the area. The hotel is within walking distance of Jingshan Park, so getting there for sunrise was easy. The courtyard looked lovely, and I can imagine people spending time there when it isn’t midwinter. Christmas decorations around the hotel added a warm, festive feel. There are historical touches throughout, like little stone statues and wood carvings in the room. I especially liked the cute IV set up to keep the tree watered in winter. The rooms are large and comfortable, and if you don’t like your pillows, the concierge can swap them for another from their wide selection. I also ate about 75% of my meals at the in-house restaurant. It was both tasty and convenient. This is the best hotel I’ve stayed at in Beijing so far, and I’m sure I’ll return. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Beijing for the first time.
