Jingtie Hotel

Ms Nie Xin at the counter deserves a special mention. She spent nearly an hour helping our party of four book reservations for tourist spots, fitting it in while she was also helping other customers. She said it was her first time doing this, and she was friendly and responsive throughout. Kudos, and a double thumbs up for her help. We stayed nine nights. The hotel is satisfactory for a 3-star place, with Guangzhou West Railway Station and the line 9 subway just a minute away. From there, the fast train to Daxing Airport takes 30 minutes. We'd stay here again if we come to Beijing.

The rooms were very clean and the staff friendly, but the heat made it hard to sleep. Even with the air conditioning turned down, the room never got below 25°C. We were sweating without blankets, despite it being 18°C outside. All the rooms face south and heat up in the midday sun. It's a shame, since the hallways stay pleasantly cool while the rooms don't.
