L Hotel (Beijing Tiananmen Square Qianmen Street)

The air conditioning stayed cold and worked great throughout our September stay. But I wouldn't recommend the hotel. We booked three rooms, and one smelled strongly of smoke. They were sold out, so staff tried to get rid of the odor, but it lingered and was unpleasant. The hallways smelled smoky as well. The front desk service was lackluster and not much help. They also turned down our request for an early check-in. Next time I'd stay elsewhere. There are lots of good choices at the same price, like Crystal Orange.
