The one real downside was a bad smell throughout the hotel and in the rooms. Staff said it comes from the old wood in the preserved traditional building, but I hope management does something about it. Getting here is easy, about a 5-10 minute walk from Qianmen station. The staff are excellent, helpful, accommodating, and proactive. There’s a complimentary washer and dryer, a free minibar, fruit in the room each day, and guzhen entertainment every evening.

The service was super nice, and the room was clean and pleasant, though not very big. Just be aware that there isn’t breakfast at the hotel, despite what the booking information says. Instead, they give you a coupon for Starbucks, about 300 m away.
