Palace Hotel Forbidden City

I chose this place because it's within walking distance of the Forbidden city, and the courtyard-style lobby had a nice, authentic feel. During my Oct 31 layover on the way to Thailand, I booked at the last minute and arrived pretty late. The staff were accommodating and helpful despite the language barrier. Everything was clean, and they provided slippers and a robe. The bed was a little hard, but in my experience, that's common with beds in Asia. Honestly, I can't say there was anything else bad about the stay.

The couple who run the place were kind and helpful. The room itself was pretty simple, but the shared space for sitting, reading, or having breakfast was beautiful and had a unique cultural feel. The location was very good too, within walking distance of forbidden city and just a few minutes from shops and restaurants.

The location is the hotel's best feature. It's a small place with limited luxuries, and the room was just okay, with no frills. Staff were helpful, though the language gap sometimes got in the way. Filtered water was easy to get, but the Wi-Fi was unreliable and breakfast was very basic.

The surroundings are okay, but getting in and out is inconvenient.
