Pan Pacific Beijing

We were glad we got to enjoy the Amber Lounge on our last evening, though we only learned then that lounge food and drinks came with our room access. Nobody had mentioned it at check-in. The Pan Pacific is right by Xidan shopping area, with plenty of places to eat and shop. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast had a nice mix of Western and local options. We really enjoyed staying there in Beijing.

It's been more than four months since checkout, and my deposit still hasn't come back. When I contacted the hotel, the response felt dismissive, so I can't recommend staying there. The hotel itself is beautiful and breakfast was decent, which makes the unresolved money issue all the more frustrating.

Daria made the stay feel welcoming from the start. She handled check-in quickly, patiently explained the facilities and nearby attractions, and was both professional and friendly. The rooms were tidy, the hotel had an elegant atmosphere, and its facilities covered what I needed. Her care and the hotel's service made for a lovely visit. I'd recommend the place to friends and hope to return.

The pool was the main reason I chose this hotel, but it stayed closed for cleaning throughout my five-night visit. The military parade also shut everything nearby, and we lost two days of travel while stuck at the hotel. I know that situation wasn't the hotel's fault, but clear advance notice and written instructions about when guests could leave would have helped a lot. Staff weren't sure either, and communication was confusing and frustrating. The room was nice and service friendly, but the carpets were stained and smelled bad, the internet was extremely slow and unusable, and the hotel felt old.
