I spent five nights here and enjoyed every day. The hotel has a great vibe, excellent rooms, and terrific, responsive service. The gym is terrific too, and the restaurants will blow your mind. Breakfast could use healthier and more exciting options. There's construction going on at the moment, so keep that in mind if you're sensitive to it.

⭐️⭐️ (Being generous) Breakfast was the low point: one guest vaped openly in the buffet area, and staff didn't step in. They went fully defensive, with no intervention at all. Even a basic coffee order turned into something like a seven-game playoff. I tried hard to speak Chinese, but three staff members were needed to get the order, and it was still wrong. Great teamwork, questionable execution. This was the worst Rosewood I've stayed at, and I've played away games in tougher arenas. For a luxury brand, the service felt like missed rotations, blown coverage, and no court awareness. Rosewood should be championship caliber, but this stay had straight lottery team energy.

Sleeping beside a giant chimney made the view feel absolutely horrible and inauspicious. They wanted an extra 500 to “upgrade” to a room without that depressing sight. Totally unfair, and not worth it.

I got a call two hours after checking out: the hotel said they'd charged me twice because I asked to use another credit card instead of my deposit. Two staff members had handled the bill and it was still wrong. They blamed a backend mistake. It really blew my mind, and I still have no idea how this could be so complicated. I left with a ton of questions. I'd never stayed at a Rosewood before, though I'd eaten at Rosewood HK, and I wondered whether Rosewood HK could stand by this one. No bias intended. I also don't understand where their 4.8 scores come from, unless that was maybe 15 years ago. The hotel feels dated, from the design to the utilities and amenities. Nothing seemed refreshed. One USB socket in my room couldn't charge my phone, and after five hours it still hadn't reached 50%. Service was the most jaw-dropping disappointment. There was little attention to detail, especially at breakfast. I ate at 10:30am, with breakfast ending at 11am, but there were no glasses by the water and drink station, no small bowls for soft bean curds, and no soya dishes at the seasoning station, among many other problems. When I asked a waitress for a beverage menu, she raised her brows, said they didn't have one, and asked what we wanted. I don't think that waitress alone was at fault. She seemed to have had no training, and the hostess behaved much the same way. About 80% of the food I brought to my table went into the trash, and it was the same at other tables. What a waste of resources. I've stayed at aging hotels from big names before, and I expect top-notch service from them. This was one of my most disappointing stays.

The pool and spa are beautiful and well maintained, and the massage and facial were great. Our room was very nice too, though it looked out onto an old shaggy condo. For what we paid, and with a suite, you'd think they'd give us a better view. We stayed the last three nights. The staff are nice, but not well trained, and the hotel's attention to detail is lacking. The Italian restaurant was a huge letdown, serving bad bouillabaisse as cioppino. The st Regis costs a third of what we paid. It's dated, but the service deserves a chef's kiss, and we only had lunch there. We'll definitely check it out next time.
