I had a terrible stay, and wouldn't recommend this place despite its supposed 5-star status. The room was hot and stuffy even with the windows open at night. It was dusty in several places, including the dining table, luggage stand, and toilet area. The shower door was broken and wouldn't close properly, while water started leaking out after just 2-3 minutes because the drainage was so poor. I don't understand why they have an overhead rain shower if the drain can't handle it. Housekeeping ignored my Do Not Disturb sign and knocked anyway. I had also told staff not to clean the room, but it had been cleaned when I returned. They claimed I had asked the cleaner to do it after I left, which was completely untrue. I prefer to wipe things myself and never let people clean my room. It took more than an hour to get an apology. When we arrived with four huge suitcases, nobody offered to help, and we struggled with the heavy doors ourselves. The check-in staff were unwelcoming and had a bad attitude. I had sent parcels to the hotel ahead of time, but when I went to pick them up, staff said I had “too many parcels” and the concierge looked annoyed while searching. It made me uncomfortable. I've stayed in many 5-star hotels in China, and this was honestly the worst. The problems and the way staff handled them made for a really bad experience.

The hotel is well placed for quick access to Beijing's superb subway. What a delight, and bravo to the staff. As an Accor diamond/platinum member who travels widely and stays at premium Accor properties, including Fairmont, Sofitel, and Swiss hotel, I found the Beijing Swiss hotel's dedication to customer service and experience fantastic and unmatched. In China, nothing seems impossible at this hotel. I like the “No worries” hospitality concept here. Special thanks to concierge Wilson, mike, and Steven, as well as hotel manager Hunter and the club lounge team.

The subway station is easy to reach on foot, so getting there is very convenient.

The hotel was fantastic and fairly clean by local standards. The service staff were good and spoke English. The location was okay, though not especially convenient for walking to places.
