The Imperial Mansion, Beijing Marriott Executive Apartments

Breakfast was something we genuinely looked forward to each morning. The selection was modest, but the food was good and clearly prepared with care. The front desk staff were consistently warm and helpful, and the Wangfujing location made shopping, food, and local landmarks easy to reach. We were a family of five visiting in October 2023, and the adjoining rooms felt like a spacious apartment, with a living room, dining table, kitchen, and guest toilet. It was very comfortable for our group. Housekeeping kept everything fresh each day, tidying the rooms, taking out trash, and replenishing the water bottles. One moment that stayed with us was at check-in, when my father suddenly got food poisoning in the lobby. A cleaner quickly and discreetly offered him a bag. He was kind and helpful, then quietly declined our tip several times when we later tried to thank him. This was one of our best Marriott stays, and we’d definitely book here again in Beijing.

The apartment was a real plus, with a washer and dryer in one, and the room was spacious and clean. Staff were professional and helpful. The building looks grand, though it’s a bit dated, and the hallway always smelled of smoke even though smoking shouldn’t be allowed. For tourists, the location is hard to beat, though traffic around the hotel can be tough. I wouldn’t stay here next time I’m in Beijing because that location advantage doesn’t matter to me anymore. But for a first visit, it’s a good place to stay. You can wash all your sweaty clothes every night!

The smoke was the only real downside. People smoke everywhere in China, and nobody at the hotel seems to say anything. The rooms were very comfortable for a family, with a dishwasher, washing machine, and a table with chairs.

We enjoyed our stay in the spacious, clean two-bedroom apartment. The staff were friendly, and the location was great, with the Forbidden City just a short walk away.
