I spent a week here for business and had everything I needed. The room was beautiful and comfortable, with a design I really liked and a practical office space. There’s a lovely hidden pool downstairs for an evening swim. The food and drinks could be better: the restaurants were OK, but not great, and one was still under construction during my stay.

The 70 square meter rooms were tidy and clean, and the hotel is right by shopping malls with both local and branded brands. Breakfast had local and western choices, though the food quality disappointed me a little. The staff were mostly friendly and helpful, apart from one or two, and the waitresses didn’t seem to enjoy working there.

Saturday night was noisy, with partying sounds coming from outside and inside the hotel. We didn’t have that problem on the other nights. Aside from that, this is a great spot right in the center of Sanlitun. Kengo Kuma’s architecture gives it a modern Chinese feel, and the rooms are spacious, with comfortable beds and an open plan bathroom with a tub. Breakfast has a good selection, including a la carte dishes made to order, and there are plenty of food outlets in and near the hotel. The staff speak good English, which isn’t very common while travelling around in Beijing.

The interior and furniture are very well appointed, with a minimalistic but elegant feel. The house collection keeps impressing me. Its location is super convenient, surrounded by great malls with a wide range of brands and shopping options. Check out the photos.

We stayed in a Studio 70. The rooms are starting to show some wear, though nothing serious, and they’re spacious with great design. There’s a lovely swimming pool that’s beautifully lit at night. One thing to know: the hotel’s location on Google Maps is wrong, and Google Maps doesn’t work properly in China.
