Breakfast was terrible, with no hot food, and definitely below a safe temperature. The room was extremely cramped, with nowhere to put my luggage, so one of my three bags had to go on the desk. I got a room without a window, which wasn't what I asked for. The floor was sticky too, so I don't see how I could honestly give the place five stars overall. The service was mediocre: no smiles or greetings, slow responses, and little help when we asked. There was a strange smell in the corridor. One elevator was under renovation, with cardboard all over the walls, and shouldn't have been in use. I felt pressured to give the hotel five stars. When I selected fewer, the woman physically tapped the five-star option herself. Don't be fooled by the Outstanding reviews. Read the bad ones, because they match my experience.

Wangfujing Station is only about a 20-30 second walk away, at Exit E3 on Line 8, and the hotel is right in the heart of Wangfujing Ave. There are lots of malls, branded shops, food courts, places to eat and drink, and souvenir shops nearby. The lobby is nothing special and was still being renovated, but the rooms were very good and newly renovated. They were clean, as were the bathrooms, carpets, and daily towels. The staff were friendly. Free laundry and a dryer are on the 5th floor, and Wi-Fi is free, though slow.

It's easy to find, right across from Wangfujing Station. The room was small but clean, and the staff were friendly. A great hotel for tourists. I'd stay here again if I came back to Beijing.
