I loved the people working here. They were so helpful and warm that saying goodbye was actually hard. The hotel is in a great area, with an easy walk to the subway and straightforward access to the rest of the city. My room was a calm, comfortable space, and the bed was good too. Breakfast was included, though I’m not sure if that came with our booking or was offered to everyone. Guests can also use the coffee machine and laundry for free. We ate at the restaurant upstairs across the street, which was very good, and had dinner in the hotel too, which was just as good. I’d gladly stay here again if I make it back to Beijing.

Breakfast was freshly made, with four choices, and the hotel is about five minutes on foot from both the metro and a shopping mall. There’s a cafe in the hotel too, with a great mocha and dessert. It’s a charming little place with excellent service and lovely staff. The room was small to medium in size, but full of character. I’d stay here again.

There are cafes and places to eat all along the street, so the location is excellent. It’s a lively, safe boutique hotel, with both a cafe and Chinese restaurant on the premises.

Free laundry is a small but wonderful perk. You can leave Beijing with clean clothes and your dignity intact, without paying hotel rates fit for laundering gold-thread outfits. JM Alley Hotel is a traditional Si He Yuan courtyard house with a modern glow-up, plus Wi-Fi that works and plumbing that doesn’t take spiritual preparation. The staff are incredibly warm, helpful, and always seem to be around when you need something. They make you want to stay longer just to keep getting those smiles.

This was our favorite place to stay in China, and we came back for a second stay. The hotel was flexible about breakfast times and quick to respond, and they helped with everything we needed. What really made it special was the welcoming, funny woman who I think was the manager. She doesn’t speak English, but we loved her. Thank you!
