Yitel Collection Beijing Capital International Airport New Exhibition Center

The room itself was decent, and I appreciated being allowed to check in early, but the rest of the stay was disappointing. The hotel advertises free airport transfers on Booking.com, yet after we landed there was no guidance on where to find or arrange one. A taxi driver approached us asking 300 RMB for an eight-minute ride, which was clearly a scam. We eventually found someone charging the usual 20 RMB, but basic instructions from the hotel could have prevented the situation. Calling the hotel was no help because nobody who answered spoke English. I understand English isn't required in China, but for a hotel next to the capital's main international airport, I'd expect staff to manage basic directions for newly arrived guests. The morning front desk man seemed extremely uninterested and unhelpful, though he did book a shuttle for midnight because our flight was at 2 AM. When we came back to check out at midnight, the two receptionists looked confused about the shuttle. They checked the booking and laughed when they saw the earlier staff member had booked it for 12 PM instead. That made no sense, since we'd checked in at 9 AM and I'd told the first receptionist our flight was at 2 AM. The mistake itself bothered me less than their reaction and lack of concern while we were stressed. We ended up arranging another taxi ourselves because they didn't seem to care about helping. If you want a stress-free stay with staff who care, don't book here. The room was fine, but everything else made it not worth it. The attached photo shows the two receptionists, one smirking or laughing after noticing the shuttle had been booked for the wrong time.
