The tour bus took us everywhere we wanted to go around the city, which worked out well since the hotel isn’t quite central. It’s a wonderful, modern hotel, and I had no complaints.

The breakfast restaurant on the third floor is bright and clean, with a comfortable place to eat. There’s a varied, substantial menu, though nothing especially luxurious. I think the soy milk is handmade; it has that caramelized smell you get from old fashioned soy milk shops, and I recommend it. Bianyifang, the famous roast duck chain, is right next door, so getting good roast duck is easy. I’ve stayed at this hotel many times, and it’s improved a lot since more than a decade ago. The lobby now looks stylish and modern, with much better lighting. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. They aren’t luxurious or trendy, but they are clean and quiet. The air purifier with humidification is a distinctive and useful touch on dry or smoggy days.
