The dining was fantastic, especially breakfast, and there’s a mall right next door. We also found plenty of places to walk nearby and enjoy the river. We spent six nights here and had a great time. I’d definitely come back. Our first room had an air conditioning problem, so we had to switch rooms. The view in the new room wasn’t as good, but was still nice. As Diamond members, we got some resistance when trying to enter the executive lounge because our replacement room keys didn’t show our status, I assume because we’d changed rooms. The staff there seemed a bit unfriendly at first, though they eventually let us stay. The language barrier can be tough for Americans, which might explain some of that, but nearly everyone else we met was very friendly.

I’ll certainly come back whenever I’m in Changsha. The hotel sits right by the river, and I had a lovely evening walk along it. The rooms and service feel high class, the view is great, and the staff are lovely. There are bars and restaurants close by, plus a metro stop.

The location isn’t ideal for tourists, but the rooms facing the Xiangjiang River are lovely. Breakfast has a great spread, and the service is excellent. One of the best IHG properties I’ve stayed in.

The staff were no help at all. If they don’t want to assist, they act like they can’t understand you. Once they’ve got your money, that’s it, help goes out the window.
