The wood in the decor gives the hotel a relaxed, comfortable feel, and the overall style is simple and harmonious. The soundproofing could be better, though. Conversations and doors opening and closing in the hallway are easy to hear. Tongcheng Commercial Plaza is under 200 meters away, and Changsha feels quite affordable. Maybe I just didn’t find the right restaurant, but nearby Grandpa Ken and Uncle Mac seem like more reliable choices. It’s convenient for the subway, and getting to the high-speed rail station is straightforward. A daytime taxi from the airport to the city center costs around 120 yuan. Traffic downtown can be a little congested, though; it took over half an hour to get from the train station to Orange Island Bridge.

The breakfast buffet is clean, decent, and has a good variety for 28 yuan per person. The restaurant only opens for breakfast and is closed the rest of the day. Staff are generally friendly, but speak very little English, so it can be inconvenient if you aren’t fluent in Chinese. Quanji Hotel is a relatively clean, decent three-star chain hotel from Huazhu Group. Prices are around 300 to 500 yuan, though they vary between branches, even within the same city. The interior has a distinctive look, with wood materials and paintings in the middle. The big plus for me was how fast and stable the internet was for Korean websites. Downloads were about 20 Mbps and uploads 3-4 Mbps, which is incredible for China. Most Huazhu Group hotels have fast internet. Signing up and booking through the self-developed app can get you discounts and membership points, but it isn’t available in the Korean App Store or Google Play, so you need a Chinese account to download it. There’s also a mobile website, but both it and the app are only in Chinese, with no support for English or other languages.
