The decor is nice, the location is decent, and the staff are very kind. Those were the good parts. I spend over 50 nights a year at Marriott properties, and this was hands down the worst hotel air conditioning I’ve ever experienced. The room wouldn’t cool below 25°C (77°F), which is beyond unacceptable at this price in one of China’s hottest, most humid cities. Maintenance came up to “fix” it, but it made no difference. For Platinum+ guests, the executive lounge food was extremely poor. Not one dish tasted decent. I hate leaving a negative review, but I couldn’t wait to check out of this inferno. Please book somewhere else in Changsha. This place isn’t up to JW Marriott standards.

I was here on a business trip, and the hotel met all the JW Marriott standards. The kind, super-efficient staff went beyond what I expected. Raubin was especially great.

The executive lounge is nice, and the breakfast buffet is a must. This brand new hotel is in Central Changsha, with an unobstructed city view and a peek at the Xiang River.
